The IDEAL® Dual Range Non-Contact Voltage Tester (model 61-657) is an essential tool for professionals, designed to handle both high and low voltage applications with ease. This CAT IV 1000 V AC, UL Listed tester automatically detects and indicates voltages between 12 to 1000V AC (Low Range) and 50 to 1000V AC (High Range) at the push of a button. IDEAL® for everyday tasks and specialized needs, it excels at detecting low voltage in doorbells, thermostats, and standard voltage in tamper-resistant outlets, making it both versatile and reliable. Engineered to withstand tough conditions, it can endure drops from 6.6 ft (2 m) and boasts IP67 protection against moisture and debris. The tester uses a non-contact voltage detection system with an antenna enclosed in plastic at the tip. When powered on, the green LED tip illuminates, switching to a red flashing LED and an audible beep that increases in frequency as the voltage level rises. Powered by two 1.5V AAA batteries, this tester also features a convenient LED flashlight in the tip, an audible disable function for noise-sensitive environments, a lanyard tie-off point, auto power off, and low battery indication.
