The Most Advanced
Circuit Tracer Available

SureTrace Pro from IDEAL Electrical delivers a total troubleshooting solution with exact voltage measurements, continuity testing, and outlet wiring verification.

IDEAL Electrical™ SureTrace™ Circuit Tracers

We changed what a circuit tracer can do. Find conductive material, energised or de-energised, anywhere. Save time and money on electrical troubleshooting. Make your job easier. It’s What We Do.

SureTrace™

RELIABLE TRACING: Detect breakers, conductors, fuses, dead shorts, and splice errors in all electrical systems up to 480V AC/DC, including 3-phase, with speed and accuracy using this ETL Certified CAT III circuit tracer.

PRECISE PERFORMANCE: Four sensitivity levels on the receiver permit easy fine-tuning to detect transmitted signals through different materials, including drywall, cement block, and underground.

ONE-PERSON TRACING: CertainCircuit™ technology turns tracing into a one-person job by visibly indicating when the correct circuit has been de-energised at the panel and at the other end of the circuit.

SureTrace™ Plus

LIGHTEN YOUR TOOLBELT: Identify shorted conductors, determine voltage levels, and detect AC voltage in all electrical systems up to 600V AC/DC — no second tester needed — when using the patent-pending transmitter and a receiver with built-in NCVT.

VOLTAGE INDICATORS: Transmitter indicates DC polarity and eight different voltage levels between 24V to 600V AC and 12V to 600V DC.

CONTINUITY TEST: Transmitter features a patent pending built-in continuity test, eliminating the need for a second tester when searching for wiring faults.

SureTrace™ Pro

TOTAL TROUBLESHOOTING SOLUTION: Check continuity, measure voltages (24 – 600V AC and 12- 600V DC), confirm DC polarity, and verify outlet wiring in all electrical systems up to 600V AC/DC with the featured-packed transmitter.

AC AMPERAGE MEASUREMENT: Induce tracing signals and measure AC amperage up to 600A using the included patent-pending, rechargeable inductive/sensing clamp with TightSight™ bottom display.

PREMIUM ROTATING DISPLAYS: Easily view readings in tight spaces and at tough angles thanks to the receiver’s two high-visibility 90° rotating OLED displays, including a TightSight™ display.

Infographic titled “Which Circuit Tracer is Right for You?” shows three products: SureTrace Circuit Tracer (61-946), SureTrace Plus Circuit Tracer (61-948), and SureTrace Pro Circuit Tracer (61-950) with images of the tools in cases. A feature matrix uses yellow dots to indicate which model includes each capability. Listed features include: find energized or de‑energized conductive material; fault‑finding for breaker trips, opens, dead shorts, and splice errors; works with 3‑phase systems; CAT III 600V safety rating; continuity testing; indicates 24–600V AC/12–600V DC, AC/DC polarity, and PPE; rotating TightSight displays (180° on 61‑950, 90° on some models); sense AC voltage 24–600V with built‑in NCVT; ruggedized hard case; test receptacles for correct wiring; patent‑pending Inductive Sensing Clamp (ISC‑950) for tracing signal and measuring/displaying amperage; and reads/displays measured voltage (AC or DC).

Tightsight® Display

Testers equipped with our patented TightSight® bottom display let you easily take readings while keeping your head at a safe distance from the panel — no more need to twist the meter or risk pulling on an energised conductor.

Probe Holders and Hanging Straps

IDEAL testing equipment is designed for ease of use. Integrated probe holders free up a hand during testing. Built-in clips allow our magnetic hanging strap to be attached so the meter can be suspended from a nail, screw or a magnetic surface.

Lead and Fuse Notifications

Multimeters that measure current have notifications including Lead Warning that alerts and prevents you from using the meter with the test leads in the wrong ports, and a Fuse Blown notification that lets you know when a fuse is blown.

Convenience Features

Many of our testers have integrated convenience features that help you work more efficiently and safely. Features like built-in torch function, NCVT tips, and GFCI trip test indicators free up a hand while eliminating the need for additional testers.

Safety Ratings

Designed and tested to industry recognised safety standards:

Circular yellow and black label with 'CAT IV 600V' indicating electrical safety rating.
Yellow and black symbol with text 'CAT III 1000V' indicating electrical safety rating.
UL certification mark with 'US LISTED' text indicating compliance with safety standards.
